DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) -- The first feature-length film about the Wright Brothers is being developed in Dayton.
The Flying Machine film was announced at Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park on Tuesday, August 13.
“The hope is that we can make an Academy award-winning film from our city of Dayton, Ohio. We want it to be at that level. I like to produce things that would give drama and narrativization. We’re using Tom Crutches' book The Bishop's Boys, that will be what we create the screenplay from,” said Director Allen Farst.
Many high-profile guests were in attendance at the film’s announcement, including descendants of the Wright Brothers.
